The general assembly of RecyComp, a scientific project of the Composite Materials axis of the PEPR, took place last week at the premises of IMT Mines Alès.

All of the project partners, 29 researchers from 9 different laboratories, were present alongside the two project leaders, Cyril Aymonier (CNRS-ICMCB) and Isabelle Capron (INRAE-BIA). This was an opportunity to take stock together of the progress of each research project.

The goal of the RecyComp project is to develop new generations of recyclable organic matrix composites (OMCs) from recycled raw materials. Often of fossil origin, most OMC components cannot be easily separated from one another. They are therefore difficult to recycle. Most composites therefore end up in landfills or incinerated, harming their environmental assessment.
