The program
The PEPR Recycling, Recyclability and Re-use of Materials (Priority Research Programs and Equipment) is part of the France 2030 Acceleration Strategy. Its objective is the emergence of a French model in the field of recycled raw materials (RRM) and their reincorporation into new products.
This PEPR program, with a budget of €40 million that may be increased to €50 million, aims to support upstream research and accelerate technological innovation for a circular economy, industrial deployment, and training in this sector throughout the value chain.
Our missions
The PEPR Recycling program aims to address the ecological, economic, and technological challenges involved in the transition to a competitive and environmentally friendly circular economy.
The program brings together more than 50 teams across France and is divided into 11 research areas: five “material” areas, four “sector” areas, and two cross-cutting areas. Based on a systemic and holistic approach, its research focuses on five major families of materials used on a daily basis: plastics, composite materials, textiles, strategic metals, and paper/cardboard, as well as sectors such as batteries, new energy technologies (hydrogen, wind, photovoltaic), electrical and electronic waste (WEEE), and household waste (excluding glass and organic waste).
